If you’re an avid mountain biker, you’ve likely heard of the Bootlegger 100. This is one of the most scenic, challenging gravel events of every year. If you’re thinking about racing in this upcoming event, you have two route choices: one is 58 miles long, and the other is 107 miles long. Both routes will begin and end in downtown Lenoir, North Carolina and take you through some of the most beautiful and rugged areas of the Wilson Creek Gorge.
If you choose the 58-mile route, plan to climb up to 4,500 feet in elevation during the race. If you plan on taking the 107-mile route, you’ll climb approximately 9,700 feet in elevation and go on a course that takes you up through the Blue Ridge Parkway.
The route you need to stay on will be clearly marked, and post-race refreshments will be provided. There will also be plenty of rest stops along the way, and each will be fully stocked with water and snacks.
