Supported by Appalachian State University, Google, the University of North Carolina, and the City of Lenoir, the NC Gravity Games are a hands-on, educational experience designed to help young people fuel their excitement of science. These games are a signature event of the North Carolina Science Festival, which is a several-day celebration that focuses on the financial, cultural, and educational impact of science in North Carolina.
The NC Gravity Games encourages teams of middle and high school students to participate, and every year, more than 50 kids sign up for the games. If you’re an adult who loves fun activities, you can also participate by signing up for the “open” race category.
If you sign up a team, you will need to create a colorful, gravity-powered car that you design and build yourself. You’ll also be able to participate in other activities, like an incredible science expo with hands-on exhibits.
This year, the NC Gravity Games will be coming back to downtown Lenoir on Saturday, April 29, 2023. If you haven’t put your team together to participate, it’s not too late! Registration is now open, but you need to complete the registration process by March 17.
Get ready for a thrilling competition and event that celebrates all things STEM when you sign up to participate in the NC Gravity Games. To complete the registration process or to learn more about the games, visit www.ncgravitygames.com.
